BSc in Occupational Safety and Health

Background

The BSc in Occupational Safety and Health prepares students to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards. The Programme develops professionals who ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, create safe working environments, and prevent occupational injuries and diseases.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) credits, including English Language, Mathematics, and any Science subjects including Biology, Physical Science, Agriculture, Geography and Food 7 Nutrition. Acceptable qualifications include EGCSE, IGCSE, GCE O’Level, COSC or an equivalent qualification.

Holders of a Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Health may also be eligible for admission. Any other recognized equivalent qualification may be considered for admission.

Course Structure

The Programme includes modules in occupational safety principles, risk assessment and hazard control, occupational hygiene, safety legislation and compliance, fire safety management, environmental safety, accident investigation, industrial safety systems, emergency preparedness, ergonomics, occupational health management, research projects, and industrial attachment.
