Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health

Background

The Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health equips students with practical knowledge to promote safety in workplaces. It focuses on hazard prevention, workplace inspections, accident prevention and compliance with safety regulations.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have obtained a minimum of 30 points in their best six (6) subjects in the Form 5. Candidates must have passed English Language with a minimum grade of D. Applicants must have obtained at least three (3) credits symbol C or better in any of the following subjects: Biology, Physical Science, Agriculture and Geography.

Accepted qualifications include EGCSE, IGCSE, GCE O’Level, Matric, or AS Level.

Applicants who hold a Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health may be considered for admission through the Prior Recognized Learning (PRL) pathway.

Course Structure

The course structure covers occupational safety fundamentals, workplace hazard identification, safety regulations and standards, risk assessment, fire prevention and protection, industrial hygiene, accident prevention strategies, occupational health principles, safety auditing and practical industrial training.
