The Diploma in Emergency Medical Care and Rescue prepares students to provide immediate medical assistance during emergencies. The Programme focuses on lifesaving techniques, rescue operations, patient stabilization and emergency response coordination.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Applicants must have successfully completed Form 5 with a minimum of 30 points and passes in three (3) science subjects, including Mathematics. The science subjects must be selected from the following: Biology, Physical Science, Agriculture, Geography and Food & Nutrition. Passes in Biology and Physical Science will be an added advantage.<\/p>

Accepted qualifications include EGCSE, IGCSE, GCE O\u2019Level, Matric, or AS Level.<\/p>

Applicants who hold a Certificate in Emergency Medical Care and Rescue may apply through the Prior Recognized Learning (PRL) pathway using their certificate as evidence of prior learning. Employed prospective students who do not possess Form 5 qualifications may also apply through the Prior Recognized Learning (PRL) pathway.<\/p>

All applicants will be required to successfully pass a fitness assessment as part of the admission process.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Course Structure<\/p>

The Programme consists of modules in human anatomy and physiology, emergency patient assessment, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, trauma care, ambulance operations, rescue techniques, emergency pharmacology, medical emergencies, disaster response, clinical practice and field attachment.<\/p>

Career Opportunities<\/p>

Graduates can work as emergency medical technicians, ambulance attendants, rescue responders, emergency care assistants, trauma support personnel and disaster response assistants.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
